According to the Russian Federation’s Central Bank, there was a notable increase in investment into Russia from Cyrus in 2013’s first nine months, the latest period for which figures are available.
In 2013’s first three quarters net inward investment from Cyprus to Russia stood at US$12.9 Billion, making Cyprus Russia’s second largest investment into the country. The only country that had a larger figure was the UK, which was given an upper-hand by the one-off TNK-BP transaction. There was a sizeable gap between Cyprus and Luxembourg, the next country, with under US$10 Billion.
